Mr. Xu Bing, Deputy Secretary General and spokesman of the Canton Fair states that the number of buyers in 103rd session remained stable growth, Overseas buyers present amounted to 192,013, increased by 1.3% compared to that in the last session.

The Asia buyers reached 104,265, the European buyers 37,161, the American buyers 27,581, the African buyers 16,666, and the Oceania buyers 6,320. In terms of participating buyers, the top five countries and regions were Hong Kong SAR, America, Taiwan Province, India and Malaysia.

In the session, the number of buyers from Europe, Hong Kong SAR, American, Taiwan, Korea and Japan decreased, while the number of buyers from Middle East, ASEAN and emerging market countries increased.

According to Mr. Xubing, the total export turnover of 103rd Canton Fair reached USD 38.23 billion, an increase of 2.1% over 102nd session and 5% over 101st session. The main features of exports are as follows:

Firstly, the enterprises in emerging market countries achieved a good turnover. The turnover of Middle East reached USD 4.84 billion, increased by 9.6%, ASEAN USD 1.99 billion with an increase of 15.9%, Russia USD 1.19 billion with an increase of 6.2% and India USD 0.93 billion with an increase of 32.9%.

Secondly, Machinery and electronic products were the main driving forces of the increase. The turnover of machinery and electronic products reached USD 16.82 billion, accounting for 44% of the total, and increased by 7.7% over the previous session. Among them, the turnover of household electrical appliances and consumer electronics reached USD 5.58 billion, increased by 6%. The turnover of light industry products reached USD 12.44 billion, increased by 2.1%, accounting for 32.5% of the total. The turnover of Agricultural products reached USD 1.22 billion, increased by 1.6%.

Influenced by supply and demand in international market, the turnover of clothes and accessories was USD 2.87 billion, decreased by 4.8%; Textiles USD 2.46 billion, 16.8% down, ceramics, furniture, office supplies and toys, USD 1.09, 1.08, 0.89, 0.76 and 0.12, 9.5%, 1.5%, 16.3%, 10.8% and 9.1% respectively. However, the turnover of gifts, bags & cases, shoes and dressings remained stable growth.

Thirdly, the main role of private-owned enterprises in export turnover was further strengthened. Turnover achieved by private-own products reached USD 22.65 billion, increased by 12.8%, accounting for 59.2% of the total turnover. Turnover achieved by state-owned enterprises reached USD 9.6 billion, 11% down, accounting for 25.1% of the total. And turnover achieved by foreign-funded enterprises reached USD 5.98 billion, 0.6% down, accounting for 15.7% of the total.

Fourthly, the enterprises in Brand Zone achieved a good turnover. In this session, the turnover reached USD 11.09 billion, accounting for 29% of the total.

Fifthly, turnover achieved by trade delegations from coastal provinces kept ahead. Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shandong and Shanghai took the top 5, with a trade turnover of USD 10.09 billion, USD 4.77 billion, USD 3.93 billion, USD 3.15 billion and USD 1.91 billion respectively. Turnover achieved by 10 provinces and cities in East Part of China reached USD 2.83 billion, accounting for 74%, with an increase of 1.9%.

Sixthly, turnover of online transaction increased as well. The visit to the Canton Fair¡¯s websites accumulated to 130 million times, increased by 1.9%. The intentioned turnover of online transaction reached USD 540 million, increased by 3.7%.

According to Mr. Xubing, National Pavilion covers the area of 1,500 square meters, 514 enterprises from 51 countries and regions came to the fair and over 5,400 professional buyers.

Continuously strengthen the effort on IPR protection

This session has received 534 complaints concerning infringement of IPR. 681 enterprises were complained, and 473 enterprises were confirmed to be suspected of infringement of IPR, decreased by 10.3%, 22.4% and 12% respectively. 532 complaints came from the International Pavilion where 680 enterprises were complained and 472 enterprises were confirmed to be suspected of infringement of IPR. 2 complaints came from the National Pavilion where 1 enterprises were complained and 1 enterprise were confirmed to be suspected of infringement of IPR.

According to Complaint and Settlement Regulations of Being Suspected of Infringing IPR, Zhongqin Wenjiao Sports Import and Export Company being suspected of IPR infringement for successive two sessions, was deprived of participation right for the forthcoming six sessions of the Canton Fair.
